Will the planet disintegrate if we stop using this eco-safe product? Probably not. But we don’t want to take any chances.

Dry cleaning is a fabric-cleaning method that uses little or no water. You may have guessed that. Instead of water, a solvent is added to the soap and sizing to clean and restore your garments – like magic. Most dry cleaners use the highly regulated solvent, perchloroethylene (perc).

At JBC, we choose to leave a lighter footprint on the earth, so we use EcoSolv® – a hydrocarbon solvent that’s 100% biodegradable. (This means that a product will break down into carbon dioxide, water and biomass within a reasonable amount of time in a natural environment.)

EcoSolv dry cleaning fluid is:

  • Gentle and essentially odorless, so we don’t need to add any deodorants
  • Colorless, so it doesn’t stain your clothing
  • Far less aggressive than perc, so it’s safe to use on most garments and delicate fabrics

We plan to keep using EcoSolv. After all, who doesn’t want their whites whiter, their colors brighter, and their clothes cleaner and fresher smelling?

No one, that’s who.
